Art
We are color, we are a spicy bet on light, and we make an effort to express the inner soul of materials, to hone the manufacturing process and to improve ergonomics.
We analyze existing typologies until we find their roots, and by applying changes to the elements that make up the frame we open a way to explore the form.
These principles define our own style, with attitude and a long journey ahead. We find inspiration in the world of art, in the artisan tradition of eyewear, in the materials we work with and in Galician culture.
Quality
Pementa manufactures its eyewear in its associated workshops in the Iberian Peninsula, preserving a tradition of craftsmanship and with great commitment to quality.
We refine the form with sharp edges and lengthen the end piece to gain expressiveness. Special pieces embedded on the front and on the temples highlight the virtues of the material.
Glasses are manufactured entirely in the Iberian Peninsula with the best European raw materials, such as sunglass lenses manufactured by the Zeiss group or acetate manufactured by Mazzucchelli.
Comfort
We put a lot of effort into making the glasses comfortable.
We work on aspects such as front angle for the nose, weight balance, frame width, pantoscopic angle, frame and lens curvatures and bridge height.
That is, everything necessary to make the glasses comfortable and enhance the beauty of each and every person.
Sustainability
Reduce, reuse and recycle, in that order, are the sustainable principles we apply at Pementa to reduce the environmental impact of the eyewear industry.
We reduce packaging, limiting ourselves to a textile cover and a protective cardboard tube, eliminating plastic wrapping.
The tube is designed to be reused and to give it a second life. In terms of recycling, we use the shavings and acetate scraps for future projects.
Attitude
We design in Galicia and manufacture in the Iberian Peninsula, so we are proud to present high quality Iberian products.
A Coruña is an innovative city, established on the international scene by companies such as Inditex or Estrella Galicia and public centers such as AESIA. We want to keep this city as the heart of the brand, a design center with worldwide influence.
We take up the baton from Isaac Díaz-Pardo and Luís Seoane in their Laboratorio de Formas (where Sargadelos was modernized), interrelating the rich Galician tradition and symbology with the contemporary art scene, reinforcing the Galician identity in international fashion.
We lean on the Camino de Santiago, the internationally acclaimed Galician landmark. Our eyewear families are paths of formal exploration, and each model is like a stage on that road. We associate a Way of Saint James to each family: the French Way to the Eyebrows, the Portuguese Way to the Bars, the Vía de la Plata to the Heels, the English Way to the Corners, etc.
The Way of St. James is an engine of cultural exchange since the Middle Ages, responsible for transmitting innovations, technological advances, artistic trends and consolidating the European consciousness, and for bringing wealth and culture to Galicia. We want to be part of it and to make our contribution.
These are the principles that govern Pementa: a commitment to quality, design, color and attitude.
